On June 25, 2025, A Values Alignment Session was held for the development of The Otipemisiwak Centre – the highly anticipated housing unit, childcare facility and office space for Two Rivers Métis Society. The new build is scheduled for completion in Fall 2027 and will be located on the 800-block of Victoria Street.
Hosted by Lii Michif Otipemisiwak, this gathering was organized by Chandos Construction, the team awarded the construction contract for the new build, at Kikékyelc: A Place of Belonging.
Attendees included: Chandos Construction Team & Indigenous Relations Officer, Members of the Two Rivers Métis Society Board of Directors, LMO Elder, Patrick Savard, President of LMO, LMO Senior Management, Makola Development Services, Architect David Fortin, and Stantec.
That evening, Lii Michif Otipemisiwak opened its doors for a Community Engagement Session at their main office at 707 Tranquille Road. Offering light refreshments and snacks, staff invited our community to ask questions directly to Métis Architect, David T. Fortin, and receive an update on the development.
Maarsii to LMO’s Executive Director, Colleen Lucier, and her team for their warm hospitality at both sessions. Our Board of Directors eagerly looks forward to greeting TRMS members at our new home at The Otipemisiwak Centre in 2027
